Horace and Enel didn't want soft light and quiet gardens. They wanted the pier at night — neon, the ferris wheel, a sequin dress that caught every color on the boardwalk.

We shot until the lights on Pacific Park started shutting down. Nothing about it was subtle, and that was the point.
